**I Changed The Vid!!** Chapter 16, Part 1 The next day, Olivia and Briana went home, leaving Gabby and Maddy to their awkwardness. When their parents came home at night, they wondered what had happened between them, but either of them didn't dare telling. They knew it will only make the situation even worse. Then, Monday came, forcing the girls to go to gossip-thirsty school. Maddy and Gabby were standing outside on the porch, waiting for the school bus. They didn't exchange a single word, of course. When the big yellow bus arrived, they climbed in one at a time, headed to their usual seats where the gossip vampires awaited them. Olivia went to school with her brother and his car, and Briana is a high school student, so the two girls weren't on. "Ohmygawd, Maddy," Lizzie Blake said, as soon as she sat down "I saw you on Teen Gossip this Saturday! Are you seriously going out with Nick Jonas?" Lizzie's words seemed to be stabbing her. But even if she and Nick WERE going out, she'd still have to lie and say they weren't -- she had spent the whole of Friday night in bed thinking about how to answer her friends' questions. "Of course not," Maddy said her planned response, only it wasn't a lie "Like they said in that interview, we're just friends" "Then why didn't you EVER tell anyone you knew them? It could lead you to major popularity!" Dina Brooklyn asked. "'Cause they asked me not to, and everyone will come ask me if they could meet them if they knew, and that would really bug me," Maddy answered in her most casual voice "Also, it might lead to major hatred rather than popularity" "Good point," Lizzie smiled. To Maddy's relief, the two girls were convinced. And another good thing was, Lizzie and Dina were the school's gossip queens -- all the gossip that goes around the school were spread from the two, and anything the two said was considered true. If the two told the whole school that they weren't going out, maybe she would be able to live her normal life once again, and forget about all the pain. Lizzie Dina immediately started telling all the people around them about the fresh news they got. Maddy smiled. But she had forgotten that even if they weren't going out, it will still mean that JB and Maddy were friends, so no-one will leave her alone. Maddy's smile disappeared. One more week until summer break, but until then, she had to deal with all of the Nick questions while she hid her hurting feelings about him. Maddy snuck a peek at how Gabby was doing. The students around her too, were asking questions. "I'm telling you, we're just friends!" Maddy could hear Gabby say "I didn't go to that dinner, but it's not because that whole thing was a date, it's because I had other plans" When the bus arrived at school, Maddy, Olivia met where they usually meet in the morning, under the big maple tree -- Briana went to school in the building next to the two girls', so they only met after school. The girls went through the day not been left alone by curious kids for even one second. The girls were annoyed, everyone followed them to practically everywhere -- Olivia could swear they would have followed her right into the bathroom if she hadn't asked for privacy. On the other hand, Gabby was having a bit of fun answering the questions -- she had always liked the center of attention. She especially enjoyed it when her ex-bf, Derek was watching from the far with his little girlfriend, who happened to usually be the center of all attention, biting her nail next to him. "I'm telling you, nothing's going on between any Jonas Brother and me! I ENJOY being single!" Gabby said loud enough for Derek to hear "I'm friends with JB, but that's how it stays. End of story." That should be enough to make Derek's girlfriend jealous, Gabby thought. If only she could tell the whole school she was Nick Jonas' girlfriend, that would definitely show Derek she was doing fine without him, and make his girlfriend bite her nails. But if she did tell, that would be just another reason to make Maddy angry at her -- and Gabby didn't want their friendship to be messed up as it already was. Briana was also chased around by question-asking maniacs. It was even worse than the Jr. High campus Maddy and the girls were at -- Briana's school was like a parallel Jonas-Loving word, filled with gossip thirsty JB fans. By the time the day was over, all the girls including even Gabby were exhausted from all the question answering -- even the teachers had been asking. Just the thought of 4 more days of this, made them want to scream and run away. Briana and the girls escaped from the crowd, met outside, and headed to Maddy's place as always. Once they got there, Gabby ran up to her room, and Maddy switched on her PC in the lounge to check her YouTube account as she always did after school. *TBC to Part 2** What will happen on YouTube?
