Jun 3, 2008 - Ultra Brightview has dual CCFL backlamps while Regular Brightview has a Single backlamp. my Screen is a AUO B170PW07 which produces 500nits of brightness while a typical Brightview produces around 200 to 250nits of brightness.

Jun 3, 2008 - yah but i think it depends on a screen yours has 17 inch which needs a dual lamp as you said. mine only 15.4 and the lamp is bright enough. I compare mine to hp 14 inch screen it is also brightview but not as bright as mine, i wonder why. mine is HP DV6648se bouht it on bestbuy. i wonder mine also has dual lamp but it doesnt say ultra bright though.

Jun 25, 2008 - Well due to the fact that i have the Dual Hard Drive Config and the Ultra Brightview Screen (Dual Backlamps) my battery drains very quickly but supposely Intel has better battery life then AMD processors. The Toshiba A305 could possibly last longer then my HP laptop in terms of Battery life. Jun 27, 2008 - I have the DV9596 which is hell fast, You should consider buyin it if you are willing to spend over £1000. Toshiba have better speakers but these are great aswell, Toshiba you get more for your money but then again HP is a well known good brand!

Jul 13, 2008 - I am considering ordering an HP dv9700 with the ultra brightview screen. I read one post on a website that said it was too bright to use in dimly lit places. Is it too bright to use for things like typing a paper in a lower light situation? Also, is a 17 inch laptop actually comfortably usable on a lap? Thanks!

Jul 14, 2008 - well theres an advantage with ultra brightview. Its outdoor viewable and its great for any tasks. if its too bright for typing papaers you can lower the screens brightness. i have no issues using it on my lap but it mostly sits on my desk

Sep 18, 2008 - Ultra Brightview uses 2 CCFL lamps. In return it gives you 500nits of brightness. Compared to the regular Brightview screen which gives you approx 220nits of brightness
