These are the first 4 shots I've completed toward making a Brick Tribute film to part of Return of the Jedi. The animation varies from 5 to 15 fps, with the last shot being the most recently completed and the best animated with a composited with a LEGO Jabba's Palace exterior and using the twin suns' setting from RotJedi. As I've recently begun an original film project, I can't say when, if ever, this brick tribute will be completed.

Jan 26, 2008 - It started out as an ordinary LEGO R2, and then I performed some surgery on it. I filed down the head so it wasn't so tall. I completely filed down the 4 studs on R2's torso. I then super glued a single stud (filed and sanded down from a 1x1 plate) right in the center of the top of the torso. This gives me smooth, full 360-degree rotation of R2's head.

May 15, 2008 - Easy: All the text at the beginning is ripped directly from Return of the Jedi. All I did was truncate the end of the prologue that didn't have to do with the part of the story I was interested in, namely, the Tatooine part of the plot.

Jul 1, 2008 - I'm not sure why you seem so pleased that I may lack certain video skills. In fact, I did my own Star Wars crawl (prologue) on my very first animated film, was quite a challenge to get it right, but I think it turned out pretty well. You can see it in my video entitled "Droid Wars: Assault of the Astromechs" which YouTube banned for some reason, but you can still see the crawl on the "audio commentary" of the film which is still up here on YouTube. You'll find it on my YouTube channel page.

Sep 3, 2008 - They went to Jabba's Palace. Lando disguised himself as one of the guards there. and Chewie left the are. leia and chewie met up and went inside to spring Han, but they were both captured. Luke came back from Tatooine to negotiate with Jabba on their freedom(he sense their capture using the Force) but he failed. But it's just a guess.

Sep 15, 2008 - I think they couldn't trust C3po to keep the real plan under wraps, so they let him think Chewy and Lando had already gone there and had not come back. That way, C3PO couldn't accidentally reveal the plan when with Jabba. The reality is that Lando had already gone in undercover, and Chewie was getting ready to go in w/ Leia.

Sep 15, 2008 - One frame at a time. :) The tongue was reddish clay, and when it was extended all the way, I used a toothpick inside the clay to give it support.
