For this video no filter of comments (I put filter on other videos because I received insulting posts..), then sorry but I do not know the reasons of this problem. Thank you blueyoyi.

Mar 30, 2008 - I'm suffering.....(let me joke). Blueyoyi, you! The wonderful pianist I give (also today) five stars, you prefer the pianist I put here as negative example of boring phrasing and sound Sigh....but ever five stars for you. I repeat, it's only a joke, and tastes has all the same value.

Mar 30, 2008 - I agree completely to Sandro. All human beings are different and theis personal tastes have all the same value;)

Apr 2, 2008 - i love how horowitz manage out to 'even' the tempo of run passages and rubato. and also his minimal use of pedal

Apr 9, 2008 - For me, Sofronitsky has such command of the music and his voicing is the best. Pogorelic seems to avoid bold dynamics and I find myself wanting him to get on with it. I rated the other three almost by tossing a coin. They were all wonderful. Thanks for the fun. 1. Sofronitsky 2. Horowitz 3. Rubenstein 4. Pollini 5. Pogorelic

May 14, 2008 - For me; Equal 1st; Pollini/ Sofronitsky 2nd.....Rubenstein 3rd.....Pogorelic, expressive but much of it too slow which destroys a lot of the phrasing and projection of singing lyricism. 4th.....Horowitz, mechanical style and shallow tone.(this type of Chopin was not his forte)

May 14, 2008 - This is a fascinating idea of yours, comparing several pianists on one video. With this same scherzo it would be also really good to compare the opening section leading into the lovely 'aria' section that proceeds the passage you have featured here.
SarrasaniPianoCircus Escribio:
May 14, 2008 - You are right. But more interesting would be (and was my idea) knowing the pianists names after having judged them (without the pre-judice all of us have knowing the names...).
flugelmaniac Escribio:
May 14, 2008 - Yes, it's got a lot of potential mileage, keeping the names secret until people have had a little time to listen and vote.....far more scope for people voting for not famous but good pianists as best and then devastating shocks when top names are rated lower than the unknowns sometimes!

May 18, 2008 - I agree

Jun 18, 2008 - 1 - Horowitz 2 - Sofronitsky 3 - Rubisteni 4 - Pollini 5 - Pogorelich The reason of this personale ranking ? Well when I played Chopin I learned to work out hard on "forte - fortissimo - piano - pianissimo. The "whispered" way to play the pianissimo is something which Horowitz only can honestly reach. Sofronitsky is pretty close. Unfortunatly Pollini and Pogorelich are too much "robots" when they play and without a video the sound looks even more cold. Chopin wanted to share his emotions

Aug 8, 2008 - 1 - Horowitz -special as always 2 - Pogorelich- clear tone 3 - Rubistein- nice 4 - Sofronitsky- too much pedalling 5 - Pollini- as I tend to play it :)
Endeavour88 Escribio:
Sep 14, 2008 - 1) Pollini

Nov 14, 2008 - I think Pogorelich is the best in this piece. 1) Pogorelich 2. 3. 4. 5.

Mar 29, 2008 - first one: a bit boring, but not bad, of course. second one: very deep, extremely lyrical and full of deep sensation in the slow cantabile-part and full of temperament and tempo in the fast part. third one: very musical, the virtuosic part nicely outplayed with sensation and phrasing fourth one: sometimes a bit too agressive for me personal (the sforzati in the fast part), but also o.k. fifth one: nice, but quite usual. Could you give me the solution, who is playing in every record?
