This video demostrates superiority of eCVT in Prius. Propeling 3,150 lbs mass uphill at about 1,500 RPM. The gas engine only makes 82 lbs-ft (about half of Camry). The electric motor synergize the gas engine's weakness with its 295 lbs-ft torque.

Nov 22, 2008 - Very interesting. I am curious about the Palm Pilot displaying RPM and apparently something else. Can someone post information on that? Thanks! Dennis

Nov 22, 2008 - I am using Dyno-Scan from auterraweb with Palm M130. The other number that you see is the engine coolant temp in deg F. There are more than 20 other values that I can monitor real-time but none of them are hybrid specific. There is List screen with smaller numbers but it can display 8 values at once. You can check my other videos in google video with that List screen if you are curious.
