Mar 13, 2008 - One of the nice things about human nature is that we feel terrible sorrow for the passing of such a storied performer as Mike. But we shouldn't feel sorrow because most of his 60 years before his accident were probably fantastic. We should just feel blessed that his music will endure, and that if we behave ourselves we will see him again.

Mar 13, 2008 - Perhaps the most grief I feel is that after playing piano/keyboards since he was 5 years old, he was denied playing his beloved instrument the last 4 1/2 years of his life. RIP Mike - you're in Heaven and playing on the best sound system ever.

Sep 5, 2008 - when mike smith went solo in his later years I thought it was really shocking that legally he could not say he "was formally with the DC5". I don't understand why Dave Clark would put that restriction on him. Obviously would hurt his solo career. Did those two not get along or something? Was clark envious of smiths popularity?
