The look on the doctors face wasn't making Joe feel any better. Joe: why do you have the look on your face? Doctor: I'm sorry... Sam: no...no...no...no! Joe stood there with disbelief. Doctor: Sam its ok. She's asleep right now. But there's not much we can do for her now. We have to let this take its course. Sam: no. how is that ok. Are you sure. There has to be something. Doctor: she's in room 223. You can go see her but she is still asleep. Kevin: thank you doctor. you wanna go see her babe? Sam: Joe you want to go first? Joe: [turned to Sam] are you sure. Sam nodded her head. Joe: thanks Sam [went and gave her a hug and then headed towards Lexi's room] Kevin: [looking down at Sam] that was nice of you. Sam: the look on his face explained it all. Kevin: lets go get tiff and nick. [She nodded and tried to wipe away her tears so tiffany wouldn't see] Joe slowly walked into lexis room. With every step he took his heart broke more and more. He didn't want to believe what the doctor told him. Lexi could fight this. He knew she could. He sat in a chair next to her bed and softly took her hand. When she felt him she woke up. He quickly wiped his tears away so she couldn't see. Once she opened her eyes she let out a weak smile. Lexi: hi [ok so she's weak so imagine her talking slow and soft] Joe: [smiled] hi. Lexi: you ok? Joe: [shook his head and began to cry again] Lexi: [lifted her hands and wiped away his tears] don't cry. Joe: I cant help it. Lexi: Joe, you knew this was coming. Joe: but I don't want it to. Lexi: I cant do it anymore. Joe: yes, yes you can. don't quit. Lexi: I cant. I'm too tired. [squeezed his hand harder] don't cry. Joe: you cant leave me Lexi. What am I supposed to do. Lexi: everything happens for a reason right. Maybe there is something else planned for me. Joe: [shook his head] no you're supposed to stay here with me. Lexi: I cant Joe. [began to cry] you were my angel. You were put into my life to help me through this. And you did. Now its time for me to go. don't be sad. Joe: no. you're going to get over this. We all are. Kevin, nick, sam, tiff, you, and me. Lexi: babe you wont be able to be happy if you wont let go. [she wiped his face again when the rest of the group waked in] Tiffany and Sam ran over to their sister and submerged her with kisses. They all had tears in their eyes but the girls already had a talk with Lexi about this day. They knew it was going to eventually happen and they came to terms with it promising Lexi they wouldn't be sad. Sam looked at her sister with sad puffy eyes as she stroked her sisters hair. Kevin and nick walked over to Lexi and gave her a kiss on the forehead. Nick: [took the webkin out of his pocket] frank wanted me to give this to you. Lexi: [with tears in her eyes] his favorite webkin. Nick: yeah. He said he wished he could come and that he loves you. Girls: awww. Lexi: he really is the man. [laughing] Everyone admired how strong Lexi was through this whole ordeal. She could still put a smile on everyone's face even with everything that is happening. Doctor: [walked in] ok guys. She needs her rest. Only one can stay though. Joe: [looked at Sam] you stay Sam. Sam: you sure? Joe: yeah. Sam: can Kevin stay too. I don't want to stay by myself. Doctor: ok. Just as long as you guys are quiet. Joe: guys can I say goodbye first. Nick, tiff I can take you guys home. Nick and tiff nodded and they said their goodbyes. Kevin and Sam went to go get coffee to prepare them for their long night. It was just Joe and Lexi. Joe: [took her hand] do you promise it will all be ok. Lexi: I promise. Joe: I love you Alexis. Lexi: I love you too Joseph. Joe: [cracked a smile] you never call me that. Lexi: yeah well there is a first time for everything. [wiped away his tears again] thankfully you don't wear eyeliner or we would have a mess. Joe: how do you always know how to put a smile on my face. Lexi: it's a gift. [yawned] Joe: [gave her a kiss] you should sleep. I'm gonna go. Lexi: bye Joe. Hearing those words scared him. Joe: I love you. Joe walked out and met nick and tiff. Nick: here. Kevin's keys. [threw the keys at him] you ok? Joe: I'm fine. Tiff: [gave him a hug] its gonna be ok bud. Joe: lets go its been a long night. As Joe walked out of the hospital he couldn't help but feel like even though things were bad everything was going to be ok. And it was all because of Lexi. That night before he went to bed he made sure he prayed for Lexi. He also had an interesting dream. --------------------------- Ok gave you think one after work just like I promised!
