Mar 2, 2008 - waaa! This just goes to show that America has no sense of humor anymore! For God's sake it made the news!!! And to think, some students paid in as much as $2.00 worth! For shame children, for shame! Children, it should have been at LEAST $5.00 worth!

Mar 2, 2008 - Ahh, it was way more than 25 kids!! More like 55! Brilliant idea. All the teachers got pissed the next day and kept telling us it was never gonna work! Yeah, so we're gonna boy-cot lunch for the next two weeks. PENNIES OR NOT, THE CHOICE IS YOURS.

Mar 2, 2008 - Haha this was so much fun RMS is now known like, everywhere. Haha I went to the movies yesterday with Sarah someone recognized her. It was so funny I wish my mom let me go on the news. I was in the room watching them make this. Though, my mom is letting me be in the newspaper yayy :]

Mar 2, 2008 - Clever form of protest, and a good example of good and bad public relations. A good natured school administrator could have laughed it off and donated the pennies to a food bank or homeless shelter and that would have been the end of it. But by handing out detention, this story is getting international coverage, here and on The Drudge Report. The school administration, in my opinion, now seems pretty dull and unimaginative. And in the end, the students still got the last laugh!
XjjdX Escribio:
Mar 2, 2008 - Rather than brown bagging it, or boycotting the cafeteria, if the students want to get on the news again, they should organize a "penny drive." Collect as many pennies as possible, and donate them to charity. That would show that the students are creative and caring. Make lemonade out of lemons. Think about it... you students are in the national spotlight. Take advantage of it!

Mar 1, 2008 - I am a student at RMS and i think that the detentions are so stupid. our VP is so ridiculous for doing this because no one is going to learn from it, in fact some of the kids that got the detentions arent even going. I think that this whole detention thing is stupid. Look teachers...get it right...it was just a joke and you are making it something else. get over the fact that we pulled a prank. just get over it..
