The official promo video for the 2nd single from the Monkees' 10th studio album "Pool It!" The song was written by Ian Hunter of Mott the Hoople and Mark Clarke, who brilliantly played bass guitar on the Monkees' '86 and '87 tours. Notes of interest regarding this video... The track used here was NOT the version used with the official video (which was the album version), this is the single version with a short additional vocal interlude by Davy at the beginning of the 2nd verse and slightly different instrumentation on the bridge (particularly the bass guitar) that made its digital debut on the Monkees' 1990 box set "Listen to the Band." Also, the girl in the video is played by Davy's oldest daughter Talia. This single was made available as a picture sleeve 45 and a limited release picture disc.

Feb 14, 2008 - Yeah, I had just gotten my drivers license and was in a summer driving program through my high school when "Pool It!" came out. I had a tape deck in my '77 Cougar and I'd blast it driving through town. I turned 17 that November.

Apr 26, 2008 - this is brilliant.austrslia didn't get this album at all . i don't think any single went top100. i never saw a video and i watched videos 24/7.lol. i guess the 60's kids didn't like their new direction and the 80's teens didn't want to buy a record by a band theuir parents used to like.

May 9, 2008 - LITTLE KNOWN FACT: When The Monkees were recording this album...The New Monkees were in a recording studio below them recording their album.

Aug 12, 2008 - Now THAT is a fun fact! The new MOnkees tried to capitalize on the frenzy of the originals but didn't have the writers to pull it off.

Sep 18, 2008 - This song rocked harder than anything else the Monkees recorded. This was the best song on the "Pool It" album.

MAMsMom97 Escribio:

Sep 19, 2008 - If you think they rocked hard on this one, you should hear their '96 album "Justus!" Nez's power chords will make your teeth grind! Nez 4 Prez!
