Visual poetry is poetry that combines motion graphics, film or video, music and of course, poetry. This offers an exciting format where poets, motion graphic artists, actors and other artists can reach out to the public and show off their skills and talents. Naturally, PoetryVisualized.com allows our members to show off their creations. But we have plans that go beyond merely being an online collection of fantastic short films. Our first project will be a motion picture of the visual poetry world where we will take the best short films and put them together, with commentary, as a full length feature film. That film will be submitted to the major film festivals, sold on our web site and distributed world wide. All income from that film will be divided up among the contributing artists and PoetryVisualized.com. But there is much more to come If you would like to join this exciting new art form, just submit your own short poetry based film to PoetryVisualized.com and we will take care of the rest. And, you don't have to have a completed film to become involved with our community. All poets may submit text only versions of their poems or audio only versions of their poems to share with the rest of our community. This will give other creative minds an opportunity to use the poems and combine them with audio, music, motion graphics, video, photography, paintings and other elements in order to produce a completed visual poem! The spirit of PoetryVisualized.com is to have all creators intermix with each other. Attorney Rod Underhill represents PoetryVisualized.com: a cofounder of MP3.com and the futurist who helped engineer their 6.9 billion dollar public offering.

Apr 28, 2008 - There is no deadline but you should submit as soon as possible. We will choose the best clips probably around November-December and put them on a DVD. We also plan to include some background info and interviews from the chosen artist and put them along with the clips on the DVD.

Jul 1, 2008 - cool! you mean I can get paid for my art? I didn't think anyone was that interested. I saw this new documentary semi-recently, really great, 'The Life and Times of Allen Ginsburg'. Have you seen that one? Definitely a very great film about one of United States' greatest poets. In the extras, the film maker says he followed Ginsburg for 25 years since his life was saved in Ohio by an 'Om' from the police loudspeaker. Couldn't find a poetry film producer in the States, had to go to Europe.
