"Blushing Bride" by the Truetones is an overlooked Doo-Wop Gem of the early 1960s. These great tunes were often over-looked because they didn't get the radio exposure to catch on with the record-buying public. Some 45 years later, this golden goodie is enjoyed by a handful of lucky collectors. I'm happy to share this great song with you, playing it as it was intended, on an old record player, just like teenagers a generation or tw ago used to do 24/7. Enjoy and please remember to rate and comment!

Mar 31, 2008 - Thank you for commenting. I was also very surprised when I first purchased this 45 at a flea market (without knowing what it was). I did not expect an RB ballad, because the Felsted label was known for Country-Crossover and Teen-oriented music. The best dollar I ever spent!

Apr 2, 2008 - I used to have a 78 of "Billy" on that label, forget the artist, but it was kinda rock and roll - ish.. loved it but sold that one too, to pay those bills.. best of luck! Catch me on ebay!

Apr 2, 2008 - Thank you for commenting. "Billy" was a Top 40 hit by Kathy Linden around 1960. She had another hit with "Heartaches At Sweet Sixteen", which became popular all across Europe in various languages. "Blushing Bride" was a lucky buy for me, because I had no idea how beautiful it was until I got it home and played it.

Jun 29, 2008 - Thanks for commenting! I'm aware of how special this record is, and I will take very good care of it. I played it on this inferior old record player only for effect. I usually play my vinyl only on the best turn tables, and I store my records very carefully. There are a lot of fantastic songs that just can't be found on CDs or in any other form. Only those lucky enough to have the "real thing" will have these gems forever.
